I've noticed a bug in the software design for the latest Corolla and CHR Hybrids.
When you take it out of "Park" it takes the (electric) parking brake off.

I really don't want that! The brake should stay on until you press the accelerator.

I thought you always had to put your foot on the brake before moving the selector in an auto, so with the footbrakes on it'd negate any action with the handbrake confused

Raise it to Toyota if you feel it's something that needs addressing, they always came back to me on my random questions about the Crown laugh

That might be something which is configured so your Toyota dealer may be able to change it. The manual CHR releases the parking brake when you release the clutch so there seems to be some variations on the theme in there.

Maybe a setting somewhere in the menu? But I did find it odd myself in the test drive!
