Honda system top box
Discussion
My newly acquired cbf500 has the top box fitted, the locking catch does everything except lock the box down firmly.
I have tried all combinations of key and red button positioning, it seems locked in but the slightest upward pressure and the box unlatches.
Anyone had the same system and the same problem ?

They all work (IME) on very similar systems
I'm assuming you're talking about the box to the bike - it should go on without a key and with a good click.
If it doesn't I'd check for any obvious damage and how the latch is moving
If in doubt I then lube anything that moves - with either silicone spray or WD40 whichever is nearer

Cheers, I had done silicone spray, after reading what you said about ‘without a key’ it is now fitted, just needed a more violent shove.I'm assuming you're talking about the box to the bike - it should go on without a key and with a good click.

Last top box I had was around 1980 :-)
