KENT AND THE SOUTH EAST AS A ROUTE!!!!!
The last 3000 miles have given me an average return of 22.9 mpg!!!!
10% of that was 6th gear....the rest included playing to and from Goodwood and general traffic jam and steady south east traffic.
Pretty bloody good for a 380bhp car!!
Have crossed checked with petrol account and mileage and it all correlates.
By comparison we are getting 19mpg out of 'tuned' Astra turbo over same roads.

I'm with you on that one mate...
Now ive learnt how to drive the V8 properly im averaging 20.5mpg.. not bad for Linden stage II with 9000K on clock...
Even in mad busy traffic i can keep her at 19mpg... does go down a little on open roads
But still average is up near 20.. My work run works out to be £3 a day more expensive than my vectra GSI did... very impressed!

While cruising on the motorway at sensible speeds mine does 27mpg.
I seem to be getting around 20mpg from my LS1. Rough enough given todays petrol prices.
6th on mine is pretty useless at anything below 70mph. It works, and drives ok from about 50, but it falls into parts of the map, where I believe it just uses more fuel than it would in 5th.
The Astra sounds hideously bad on fuel ???? Ive built a couple of Subarus, now making around 500bhp, and they can pretty easily return 27-30mpg.. They are much easier on fuel than a std Subaru in traffic and normal cruising.
