Been following the launch and review debate over the last few weeks. big OnePlus fan for a while now and am or shall I say was excited about the watch.
After watching some of the reviews I'm not sure they've got this one finished yet. Also it appears to be quite a large watch which I'm also not sure about.. yes I could go buy a gear or fitbit but I like the brand crossover

Anyone buying ?

I doubt many will be.

Damning reviews are everywhere for this ... too late to the game and with a totally underdeveloped product.

Looks like they’ve tried to emulate the approach of Apple with a walled garden of products that it works with (like the tv control feature just for OnePlus TVs but without having a solid user base for them).

I can’t see many/any going for this vs a xiaomi or huawei offering or even a Fitbit tbh

If it had been announced and launched before I got my 7 Pro I would have been excited as my OnePlus 3 was a great phone until the camera motor failed - something I rarely needed, but when I did I really did. The 7 Pro may be my last OnePlus as it's just too buggy too many comprises and odd design decisions.

A 5 year bump.

I've had a Samsung watch 4 for over 3 years and it was due for replacement. It is not my main watch, but I do find a smartwatch useful in some specific circumstances.
I don't like the design of the current Samsung - either make it square or round, but not both...... Watch 6 classic was a favourite and can just about still be bought - but the really cheap ones seem to be non-UK. Since I have a Oneplus Open phone, I figured it was worth trying their watch - and since the watch 4 was released a few months ago, why not. It arrived yesterday.

Initial impressions:

I'm not a big fan of the giant size of smart watches now - and it is big. But in all black, not as bad as I expected. And from a useability point of view, it is leagues ahead of the small watch 4. The screen looks very good.

Battery life is the main positive. Too early to tell but with AOD on, it currently looks like it should last 4 or 5 full days.

Pin code is disappointing - Samsung was 8 digit, this can only be 4.

One big plus - I use Tasker AutoWear. On the Samsung, although my tasks could wake the watch up (using toast), unless you held the watch up as if you were looking at the screen it would immediately go back to sleep and the task would fail. The watch 4 doesn't do that, so AutoWear works much better.

It detected running yesterday and switches to a decent display for the activity - including what zone your heart rate is in.

So far, seems like a decent buy.

Anybody else got one?
