Just got the Ferrari email today, looks like the 'special' 812 will be revealed shortly.

Pics look stunning IMO.

Looks fabulous. I’d buy one if I could a) afford it b) I was worthy enough

No doubt it will be knocking on the door of £400k+ with spec.

Will be interesting to see how limited they will be. Recent cars like the 812 GTS, Pista, SF90 suggests Ferrari are not limiting some of these special cars to small numbers as they may have done so in the past.

Not that I could ever afford it, but not keen on the rear “no window” design like Lambo.

What’s going on with the rear brake caliper - looks like an unusual shape (or my eyes/brain are playing tricks on me)

If I could I would, even if I think the 812 does not look good from the front - but 9.5k rpm V12 would make me overlook pretty much everything else

Think the description talks about it being steeped in Ferraris’ rich 70 year history, so it’s probably a design que from old racing cars. Does make it more racey looking.

I got the email too. Don't know why as I don't think my dealer would even answer the phone if I tried to ask about it.

Looks nice though.

fine on a mid-engined car where the vents serve a purpose

looks like a fake mid-engined car now smile

Tend to agree with you

I think they did sth similar on the 812 Omologata or whatever it was called

Those aren't vents on the rear lid. They are winglets. Explanation courtesy of a poster on another forum -

"The use of vortex generators is not to increase the speed of the flow--in fact they take energy out of the flow--but they are to energize the boundary layer flow so that the flow remains attached to the body or is directed as needed.

In the case of this car, the flow along the hatch is diffusing against an adverse pressure gradient (also due to the spoiler) so would tend to separate and so reduce the effectiveness of the rear spoiler and increase drag."

I thought I read that this was a “limited window” car (ie. they will only build them for a set period of time) rather than a “limited edition” (ie. set number produced). Can’t find the reference now. Anyone else see that ?

Mine said this;
"Something very special is coming from Ferrari: the limited series V12 Versione Speciale that sets new benchmarks in power, performance and innovation."

maybe the "limited window" reference is acknowledging you can't see out the back very well!

"limited window" as in no rear window ?

Limited? You damn right it’s limited! No rear window, no back seat. I guess we’re just the balls being dragged the fk along?

Just me then?
