The previous owner of my Elise opted for a pipercross the direct bolt on type which to me seems a little daft because its just pulling warm air in.
I am going to buy a new filter what should I go for? Not really interesed in the all the other tweeks, the exhast and airfilter will be enough, but is it worth spending the cash on a new filter.
I also noticed a ICON computer is hidden in the luggage compartment but has been disconnected, is it worth reconnecting?

Ikon superchips as a bolt on are a waste of time in the elise - imho - and many owners agree
on a rolling road test in some cases they actually lowered the torque and bhp.....
so I would say not !
with the filter - the benefit is aural only with that setup - ideally you need to mate the filter to a ram feed from the side vent - like either a hurrican, or ITG or even a raceline system
I have a raceline system which uses the pipercross filter - more cold air. But the bhp is marginal maybe 1 - 2 bhp in normal use
but this can be further improved when you add the larger throttle body £110 squid from a rover dealer
or www.racespeed.com
then with the exhaust combined you may see 5-6 bhp but a much freer rev and a better sound.
