anyone bought a computer from Tiny?

I ordered one 3 weeks ago, still no sign and they are giving me some bull about shortages blah, blah. :banghead:
I am sick of having my PH time at home curtailed by my grumpy and want my computer,NOW. Advice anyone?

a mate worked at tiny tech support, he warned me never to buy one.

He refered to them as Tough Its Now Yours.

Wierd - about 10 mins ago I just had a mate call up telling me his PC is not working anymore -

hi Podie just cancelled it, although they tried very hard to persuade me otherwise, just how many times did I have to say I don't want it!!!! unfortunately it sounds like one of those indian call centres!!

I had a similar problem with PC World last year. I wanted to take the computer away there and then but they didn't have the 17" TFT monitor in stock. Apparently there was a shortage of this particular screen and none of the branches in the South East had one available. They said it would only be about 3 weeks which, of course, came and went with yet more excuses so my other half decided to confront them in person They just happened to have a reserved one on the shelf behind the counter and since the person hadn't collected it, we had it instead. And, because the latest promotion included a free digital camera, we asked if we could have this as compensation. The Sales Manager agreed without any hesitation.

We were about to cancel the order.

There are lots of good deals around at the moment... so have a look around.

Never had a single problem with a Dell I've bought... worth having a look.

Seconded. I have had my disagreements with Dell warranty in the past but as a rule their systems are very good.

I had a Tiny pc quite a few years ago and had no problems with it, although after speaking to others, I appeared to be the minority.

Find out if you can cancel the order.

(I use mesh now)

My father in law bought a PC from Tiny. It was total rubbish from day one, and the support was non existant.
I'm on my second Dell, and neither of them have given me a seconds trouble. I'd recommend then highly, and they look way cool in black!!

My uncle had much the same - he had to get a local bloke in to sort it out as it was full of fighting software.

Also, my Father-in-law got a Tiny,

Crippled modem took a fair while tio un cripple.

TFT went ping, and had to pay £65 for a courier to deliver a new one (It was 'free' you see)

Had to spend £28 on a phone call to India to sort it out.

Avoid avoid avoid.

The reason they are cheap is they are too cheap, and make money on the warranty, lack of service.

Dell have always had a good reputation as far as I know. May have changed in recent years however.

I buy all computer hardware for my company and have tried just about every make going so I've a good idea of whats good value and reliable, so....

I've recently replaced all 100 of our PC's with Dell - and bought myself a Dell laptop for home

Another vote for Dell over here.

Was talking to a friend about it over the weekend who knows someone in sales at Dell and apparantly they are making a 5% loss on their laptops at the moment in an attempt to gain market share. So now is a good time to buy
