It's a shame but ultimately it's become a deal breaker for a lot of people (I'm sure) now they've dropped as much as they have.

I can't fathom why you would go for the Mazda over, say, an equally priced Focus ST or literally any other turbo 4 pot hatch around 2l from the 2000-2010 period. All of which manage <225g/co2

Yes the tax for the Gen1 is £500, I think the Gen2 is cheaper.

Gen 2 is cheaper - £300ish last time I taxed my old one.

I had a Mazda 3 MPS from 2012 until 2017. Was a good car overall. Worth searching the forum as you'll find lots of posts about them.

Ideally I'd be going Gen 2 rather than Gen 1. Gen 2 has a slightly better interior and the engine is a little less prone to grenading itself.
