.......With the sound of 2 stroke rofl

6 year hiatus....
She fired up 2nd kick. Sticking oil pump cable was the only issue.

Kicked the tyres and lit the fires.... less than half a bar in the 6 year old Pirelli's was quickly resolved and checked the suspension...

Quick run up the road to check temps and fuelling. Ran well barring a strange stutter under 4k at low temps... must check the air solenoid settings.....

vid with the watermark removed..

She has Tyga pipes but they're not singing as i was keeping the revs reasonable.... last time I rode her, she gave me titanium wrist & ankle! biggrin

I was using a Drift attached to my helmet and the wind noise is terrible, never been happy with the sound quality on those. I'll look at hooking up the GoPro and PiP a shot by the stingers to get the real 'ringading ding' for you biggrin

as for the no gloves... I was relivin' my yoof, init..

Sounds amazing!
Thanks.

At the very beginning you can hear the 'duh duh duh' sound of the stutter. But it disappears over 4k and 40 degrees so I think it's one of the PWM settings in the ECU for the air solendoids.
You can see I'm scrolling through the dash pages as I've wired up a logger and sensors so I'm checking everything is reading OK. GPS speed sems to work, pulling an indicated 100 (mph???) i.

2 stroke 250’s have got to be a bucket list, like a 500 2 stroke MX bike. Life changing.

On paper they make absolutely no sense...

65bhp max for a good one, mid fifties normally, zero torque from 2 little 125cc pistons, nothing below 8k, out of puff around 12k, finicky to maintain, usually something needs fixing....

BUT......

light and nimble, keeping the motor boiling is SO rewarding, carrying corner speed they are stupendous to ride.
Not for everyone, not for every day but when the road and weather are right.....
I'm well past 50 and it still makes me giggle...

Maybe it's an 80's thing...

I think you've hit the nail on the head, growing up in the 80's was "Brilliant" (Fast Show reference).

I'm trying hard to give my youngest every opportunity to sample a little of what it was like, to be adventurous, responsible for your mistakes (following lots of bad choices), to be able to pick yourself up when you'd splattered yourself again, to deal with pain, to make stuff, break it, fix it. He's outgrown his Suzuki JR50 now, so I think I maybe need to get him a more grown stroker.

100%

Big/ little wheel 80 is the best way forward....

As for dealing with consequences, we were out enduro riding in the mountains yesterday, seriously middle of the boonies, 20km from the nearest road where a friends Honda CFR pooped its pants...
Queue up a ride out to fetch one of the Land Cruisers (no way a 2wd was getting in there) and a "mak a plan" recovery. It was either this or strip the bike down and throw it in the back biggrin
2 hours to get in there, 2 hours out... long day but great fun. Unless you own the Hondarofl
