As per title. I always liked left field cars as such hence I am a ,,happy” Saab owner for the last two years. Tell me why shouldn’t I buy a 300C in estate or even saloon version. I know the interior is boring but what else is wrong with it?
Thanks

The dodge magnum is very similar.
I have a guilty want for either (estate) in proper US gangster spec.

If you wear a thick gold chain around your neck, or drink in a pub with a flat roof, it’s ideal.

Indeed, some people might assume you are offering unwanted security services.

That’s the whole point of it, it would probably be black, blacked out and some bling wheels.
Jokes aside pubs are closed, don’t have a gold chain but I have a fetish for this car ? So why shouldn’t I buy one? smile

Don't know if you've seen the Top Gear episode with a 300C on, but the trio really didn't rate it if you put any stock into their opinions.
That aside they are massive, not particularly fast, and very thirsty. Some would say a bit vulgar.
However, I can see the appeal, if you fancy one, go take a test drive and if you like it buy it!
What sort of age would you be looking at, what budget?

I drove an early one, the quickest one...maybe it was the Hemi?

Anyway, it was quite good.

Happy now?

Mthey are an inverse tardis. Big on the outside, small on the inside... I used to have a grand cherokee SRT8 some years ago, it made a lovely noise but not that much else for it to be honest

What engine are you looking at? The diesel is a merc unit, but I would go for the Hemi. The V6 seems a bit underpowered.

I can admit I do really like them.

Because there are E-Classes everywhere!

You don't see too many 300Cs around, espeically not Hemi-powered ones.

If you want one, try one and if you like it buy one - life is too short not to have anything you really want!

Lol.
Sorry it wasn’t clear but we are on about Chrysler here biggrin

By the way I would go for the 3 litre diesel and get it mapped. Apparently celtictuning can get 290 bhp out of it which is not bad at all smile

I have no idea (it’s a magnum) - was £6995 on eBay a little while ago. That’d be my spec - completely dealer-tastic and hated by most people on here. hehe

One of my brothers had one of these for a while. Saloon in 3.5 V6 flavour. It was wafty, quiet, comfortable and smooth rather than fast or nimble. Good for long motorway hauls. He liked it.

Yes, the interior is a bit strange. Very grey. It has that glitzy, cheap-yet-premium feel that some American cars have. Well equipped, and it wasn't badly built, though.

I found it quite roomy. Kids hated being in the back, though. Tons of legroom but the smaller glass area meant it always felt a bit dark and hemmed in. They couldn't see out of the windows very well.

The rear seats (in the saloon) don't fold.

Parts availability could sometimes be an issue. Trim bits especially. He had another car so if it took a fortnight to source a critical part he didn't mind too much. (Although I think that only happened once.) I believe some bits were Mercedes which made things easier although not necessarily cheaper.

Mechanically, he landed on his feet because his local Mercedes independent was happy to look after it for him.

It needed somewhat deep pockets to run it. Tax was £580 a year and it did about 23 to the gallon. Servicing was reasonable, because of the indie, but it was still Mercedes-indie prices if you see what I mean.

Comically, both petrol engines are ULEZ-compliant (yes, even the 5.7 Hemi). The diesels aren't.
