Just ordered a 65-inch LG Oled. Too Big??
Discussion
Remember the distance you need to sit away from the screen for the best viewing.
A 65'' TV– You should sit between 8 and 13.5 feet away from the screen. A 70'' TV– You should sit between 9 and 14.5 feet away from the screen. A 75'' TV– You should sit between 9.5 and 15.5 feet away from the screen. An 80'' TV– You should sit between 10 and 16.5 feet away from the screen.
So do you have that space or not?

Seating for SWMBO is nearest the fire and TV. Just measured it and it's almost exactly 8 feet. I however have the other side of the couch and am at optimal according to your calcs....
ETA - I measured from the bottom of the couch. If I take into account where her pretty head will be positioned it's plum on 10 feet.

Simple answer. Cut some cardboard to the dimensions of the 65" and see how it looks.
That's what I did.Believe me, initially you will think it's huge. I went from 40 to 65.
After a few weeks, you'll think it's fine and those "amazing blacks" are limited by the source material.
After 6 months, you'll be thinking it's absolutely normal, possibly a bit small, not least because widescreen films only use the middle part of the screen...
When I went from a 20" monitor to 24", it seemed huge and now I'm on 27, it still seems small.

I think the distance from the point (your chair) from which you view the screen should be at LEAST three times the size of the screen. So should you have a 60” screen, you should be sat at least 15’ away to watch it. No good getting a 65” screen if your front room is the size of a telephone box. The room you have shown is fine, it just depends where you sit I suppose.
