I would like to thank the two traffic boys :cop: who pulled me for (considerably, if briefly) exceeding the limit on the Darlington by-pass this evening.:o

They were were totally correct and polite, but at the same time friendly, and I think a little amused at finding this sad old git in charge of such a thug of a vehicle. (390SE)

I was waved on my way without penalty, which I think was very fair, traffic being practically non-existent at the time, and me having spotted them very quickly in my rear view. :driving:

It's 20 years since I've been stopped by the law, so please excuse me savouring the adrenaline. :)

So you got away with it for 20 years, well done. I got caught for speeding once and vowed that I'd never get caught again. Didn't stop me speeding, just to be more aware I've let my gaurd down a few times and had a few close calls, but so far, so good.

Yep.

Clean licence for over 30 years, and as I always admit,
mostly down to luck.

I think I had a touch tonight - coming back from the gf's I was sitting at the low 3's for the best part of 50 miles, until the section of a19 between the sunderland echo offices and the next flyover north.

marked up T5 appears out of nowhere, blues and twos, headlights flashing - straight up me behind! he turned off still giving it full beans in christmas tree mode, then I looked up at the flyover and there was some kind of van sitting there - lucky I was back down to 70 sharpish (as soon as I saw mr T5 basically!)

I think (hope) it was a friendly warning - ie "watch it, or I'll take your licence off you!" and quite lucky if he has helped me avoid a talivan!
