1971 Alfa GT Junior
Discussion
Hi All
Now that I've had the car over a year I thought it was about time to start a Readers' Cars thread on her. She's a Giallo Ochre 1971 Alfa GT1300 junior with a few little upgrades. She's never been restored as far as I can work out from the history, but has been maintained well mechanically. One of the previous owners who did a lot of work on the car worked for Eagle E-types.
A few highlights:
- Still has a 1300cc but the engine had a full rebuild a few years back with high compression pistons, chunky cams, full alfaholics manifolds and exhaust system, alfaholics pedal box, etc so is quite peppy, but not fast by any means
- Koni shocks and eibach spring all round with various bush and anti roll bar upgrades
- Alfaholics 15inch GTA style wheels
- Standard (new) brake calipers with DS2500 pads and braided lines
A few pics from collection day 2019.

Always liked these cars much more debumpered so set about sorting that the next day...

I had that exact car in red, a lhd import from Milan. A 1966 car.
In the death of night, under the moonlight, I swear I could hear it fizzing.
Beautifully designed, they are a pleasure to drive. Twin side draft webers on a twin cam engine, and five speed. The gear lever position, design and feel is sublime. Servo assisted brakes, and discs all round, and a perfect exhaust. So few good ones left.

Love these, did have one on my shortlist when i was looking for a classic of this era. I ended up with a bmw 2002 (funnily enough i see one in the back ground of one of your pics?!) and awhile later a friend bought a GT Junior but sadly doesnt use it much so i've not really seen it let alone get out in it!
