4k budget - 4 door, automatic - recommendations?

We have had the joy of having our Discovery 4 stolen off our driveway last week so in need of a cheap runaround for the time being until dealers reopen.

Sadly most of the £2k cars mentioned in another thread are manual, so had to up budget to 4k-ish. Requirements would be 4 doors (having two little ones with child seats), automatic, and a little bit of space.

Contenders were:
Mazda 2 - found a tidy one, but dealer was unable to confirm if Takata airbag recall has been done or not, so not keen

Not much else locally, a few VW Group cars but at 10+ys I'd personally prob stick with something Japanese, but happy to hear views of what I should deffo avoid in that list. Any suggestions gratefully received.
