BMW 8 series coupe or Range Rover sport 20 plate
Discussion
Hi will be looking to change my car and interested in either a 8 series or a Range Rover sport. I KNOW they are very different cars but have a dilemma. Iv changed 2 cars previously current is a e class convertible. Just recently married so kids in the future but just 2 of us for now. I travel a lot for work around 18k mileage a year
How’s the reliability for the sport ? Iv heard lots of bad stories etc with Land Rover
Any recommendations?

If you fancy an 8 series, id get it now while it is just the two of you. Perfect car for newlyweds to go for weekends away. And 18k a year sounds like diesel territory.
Then if/when kids arrive, swap to the RRS. Any coupe ( even a 4 door, 2+2 coupe) isnt really gonna be suitable for babies, who need a surprisingly large amount of stuff for something so small.

8 Series all the way. The RRS, as lovely as it is, is getting a bit long in the tooth now. The 8 series is a really great mile muncher and likely to give you less potential reliability issues. I’d go for a convertible just for an added bit of enjoyment before you’re lugging buggies and the kitchen sink around with you in the future.
Definitely go for an 8 series.
I went from a 2016 Full Fat Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 (I know it's different to the Sport) to an 840i Gran Coupe and they are night and day in terms of tech.
Granted both cars are from different era's but the 8 series is better in every way apart from the high up seating position of the FF.
If you can go for one with the assisted driving package, it's on a different level to the adaptive cruise in the Range Rover.
