Got to be one of the first “new car” threads to get a volume2!

Don’t think it was mentioned but it’s just won car of the year https://www.motoringresearch.com/car-news/toyota-g...

It was in Volume 1 - what was the equivalent Car of the Year in 2020? There seems to be so many awards from so many different motoring groups.

Picking mine up on Saturday, later than originally anticipated but lockdown and other issues pushed it back. I’ve a few queries which maybe answered elsewhere on PH but is there anything specific I should check / expect from the handover? I’ll give it the once over for damage etc but anything to check? I’ve never bought a new car before and certainly not one I’ve never even driven so any advice would be appreciated.

Also, I’ve seen a few risers and other 3D printed parts to adjust the mirror does anyone know where you can buy one? I don’t have a 3D printer so that’s not an option but the mirror was annoying when I sat in it so want to adjust that if I can.

Over rev any engine and it will fail. My friend kindly put my 3.2 Carrera forcefully in to 3rd at 120mph thinking it was 5th.

Lockdown handovers are pretty short and sweet, as I’m sure you can appreciate.

I’d perhaps check:
The bodywork and roof for any damage.
Media system is working.
2 x keys
Book pack has the manual and your service book.
Your insurance in place for when you drive away.
You’ve got a quote for a service plan.

Anything you’ve agreed as part of your purchase has been sorted, fuel? accessories? paint protection? GAP insurance?

This would be an opportune moment to get in a link to the OFFICIAL FORUM.

A hive of useful information on the world’s greatest hypercar destroyer (and also a waiting room for incredibly bored future owners with nothing to do other than refresh their MyT app):

Gosh amazing to see this go on and on, over 499 pages and counting.

Mine was No 1 on that oft repeated list, ordered 13 November and is due to be delivered to ‘my dealer’, gosh that sounds bad, on Thursday this week, hopefully it happens and I pick it up this weekend.

After a few second thoughts I am really looking forward to it now.

My order is in with my local dealer, contingent on a cancellation or another production run, and I'm kicking myself for dithering for a few weeks as I could have had one if I'd moved quick enough.

You can move the mirror up, for many of us that has put the problem to bed. Worth getting some miles in before deciding to adjust it. I’d be checking tyre pressure as they seem to be in the 40psi region when shipped. 32 front 29 rear.

Are you saying they should not be 40psi?

front 32, rear 29

for 88W tyres (i.e the Dunlop 0050's) if you are going over 200kmh you have to add 4psi.
