does an overseas accident in a hire car effect your uk ins?

as above, if i have a bump in a hire car does it have any bearing on your uk insurance,

thinking of hiring a car on holiday

I've had a few minor scrapes, not accidents as such. Never declared it, so insurance company none the wiser.
