Smart Televisions
Discussion
A few weeks ago I got rid of an ancient television and replaced it with a 48 inch LG OLED tv and a sound bar. What a difference, how on earth did I put up with that old tv for so long.
I’m now looking at changing the not quiet as ancient tv in the other room but it needs to go into a cabinet so 43inch is as big as I can go. Annoyingly the aperture of the cabinet is 103cm which is just too small for the 48inch LG.
There’s no OLED televisions at that size but I can get a QLED. Has anyone tried QLED tv’s?

QLED is just another marketing term for some company's latest LED tech.
Add another letter to the front to make it look newer, and make it look like an 'O' so people don't realise it's 'only' LED.
Can't comment on the smaller sizes, but we're very happy with our LG 55NANO866NA - as it was much cheaper (£750) than the OLED Cx equivalent (£1300).

- LG do NanoCell (using an IPS panel)
- Samsung do QLED (using a VA panel)
- IPS panels have better viewing angles
- VA panels have better colour/contrast

Q and OLEDs are closely matched, especially with the current generations. As mentioned above both have separate strengths but overall you'd be hard pushed to say either is supremely better than the others.
I've had a QLED 4k panel for a few years and love it (much prefer Samsung's user interface than any of the others).
