£80k, best drive, minimal depreciation????? - Page 1 - Car Buying

That list above is pretty similar to what I am hoping to look at in a few months. However, that F430 isn’t a manual sadly. At that budget, you’re able to comfortably get a nice manual 360 though. I would look at an Evora of some sort too.

Thanks for the suggestions so far, not a fan of LHD, 360s never really grabbed me, while the vantage is a looker I think you can get better-performing cars for the money.

I am going to raise the dreaded question re McLaren's reliability and I presume you have to get a warranty to deal with the incoming issues?

There’s a lot about this on the McLaren forum. Seems to be a bit mixed but regularly used cars, once any niggles ironed out, are apparently fine. A lot of owners seem to move to a Thorney warranty. Worth digging into that forum. 12C and 650 warranty prices are higher than 570/540, certainly through McLaren.

I have to say that early on I feel Mclaren deservedly had an issue with reliability that was exasperated by dealers who didn't communicate well with owners, now most of the niggly issues have been sorted but with any car in this price range yes I'd want an all singing & dancing warranty.

I don't think you'll have many issues especially if you go for the 650S.

Unless age is an issue then I think either a Ferrari 355 or like you say a 997.2 GT3 are about the best "drivers" cars you can buy. Of course I've driven neither but if I had the money...
