I currently have an Aprilia Tuono V4 and am looking to replace it but I'm at a loss as what to get. I have a budget of around £7000. I keep getting drawn to ZZR1400/Hayabusa as I really liked my old ZX12 and Hayabusa I had previously. Any ideas???

£7k will get you a good example of pretty much anything, it depends what you fancy, a ZZR14 is chalk to your Tuono's cheese.

You've already got one of the best fast bikes ever sold to the public, but if you really want a change, decide if you want a 'sit up a little' bike, or a full out sports bike.
I'd say forget a 'busa or a ZZR1400 nowadays. Neither will feel faster than what you have, both are dated, both will feel as lardy as hell. Unless you want a heavy, powerful brute and an iconic bike, which both are.
I'd get the best 'blade you can find for your budget, (forget the Honda-haters, the number sold will tell you how good they are) OR if you want something more like your current bike, a BMW S1000R is an amazing bike. What an engine!
Alternatively, for a real change get yourself a modern big Ducati. You'll get an 1198 for that money. 160 bhp. My one was epic, the astonishing noise, the power band, the light weight, the character, the rarity. It just won't be as easy to upkeep as the rest mentioned.

A 2013 R1 would be a great choice, a mate just bought exactly that.

What is it about the Tuono that's not for you? Looking at V4 Tuonos as my next bike.

ZZR 1400. For brute force and arriving at roundabouts much quicker than feels normal.

I love mine, long trips are a breeze and I don't ache afterwards.......

The problem is that asking such a question of a bunch of sports bike owners will bet a sports bike based response. Asking a bunch of adventure bike owners will get an adventure bike based response.

While I agree that the likes of the ZZR1400 and the Hayabusa are "old tech" compared to a many of the newer sports bikes, they still offer many benefits, especially in real world use and especially if comfort and practicality is more important than absolute performance.

The ZZR1400 is a great bike but you might also want to look at the BMW K1300S

You always say that BlackK1 and you always suggest a bike you have previously owned.

Just saying.

I may even spend an evening going through your old posts just to back myself up with facts if i get any cheek back off you young man.

Mostly true, as many of us do. But, notice I don't recommend anything beyond trying them. They may or may not work for whoever is asking the question but I'm simply suggesting that they are worth considering.

Most of my bikes are bought after a fair amount of research as well as test rides. As an example, my list of possibles that ended up with the H2 SX started at 9 bikes. That's why I'm happy to recommend them as being worth a look.

What made you recommend the R1? scratchchin Aren't 'Blades actually much better bikes?

I always say R1 mainly just for the sheer absurdity of it.

Id like a new off road bike. R1

id like a comfortable 2 up cruiser for an around the world trip. R1.

I don't get any more wiser as i grow older.

I got a 2020.....Needed to get it before they stopped supplying to the UK. Best bike by far I have ever had (only had 4 tho!) Easy to ride, absolutely solid, isn't tiring and feels like warp speed very quickly..... Build quality proven. Hasn't got lots of gadgets just 200hp.... I'm getting mine remapped shortly and hoping to get it near 215hp with all the EU5 restrictions removed. Each to their own but I love my ZZR
