Early M2 must haves
Discussion
I drove a nicely specced 17 plate with this. I'd want it all.
But one crucial thing, I drove a 18 plate and it didn't have lumbar support. That made disappointing seats (compare to M3) unacceptable, for me.
I note it says Xenon, maybe LCI had LED. That's a plus. I can't recall details of my 18 plate to look it up.

Mine came with HK, lumbar, sun protection, keyless, heated seats, folding mirrors and steering wheel.
The only thing I really rate/need out of all this is lumbar support.
There are things I insisted on not having: sunroof, electric seats, DCT.
Xenons are apparently brighter than LEDs, albeit less white.
Some people avoid keyless for risk of theft but I understand the key disconnects itself after a while once not moving so perhaps not such an issue.

I pick up an M2 LCI Saturday.
options are : hk, enhanced blue tooth with wireless charging, heated seats , dct, high beam assistant, elec mirrors , comfort access, sun protection class
Things I never wanted are a sunroof as it's reduced head room, and electric seats as the manual ones sit lower

They’re superb cars
I bought my Daughters off her. I was cleaning it ready to take pics to advertise it and thought I can’t let it go, it’s just so mint.
2016 with 9k miles and never been out in the salt.
I’m just so enjoying it, what a great little car.
My Woman has had M3’s for years, has the F80 now which I’ve never liked. Rate the M2 streets ahead

Yeah I second that. I've got a pre-comp M2. Bought it of a BMW dealer with just 4.5k miles on it. Had it a year, and only 8k miles on it now. Registered 11/16 it pretty much feel like a new car. When I looked for an M2 the M2C were just coming on strong. And because I'd decided to buy an M2 based on the pre-comp, and reading reviews saying the M2C waa a 'diffeernt car' I looked for an original M2. I'm very happy with the purchase. It makes me smile every time I get into it and fire it up. The M2C sounds 'muffled' in comparison.I bought my Daughters off her. Yes the comp has better seats and one tenth of a second quicker to 60 but not worried about that.
So many comps for sale now at BMW AUC

I have headroom issues in some cars (for example, can't fit into a current generation MX5 folding hardtop as my head touches the roof) but had no headroom issues in a first gen M2 with sunroof and leccy seats.
Hence I bought one with no sun roof and manual seats that sit lower Gassing Station | M Power | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
