I'm doing up a spare bedroom I'm gonna make into study. I'm not allowed to work from home so it'll mostly be a bike gear changing room as I can't think what the fk else to put in it.

Helmets will be sorted, ill just get another one of these.

Kinda made a storage place for the leathers and boots. But gloves..... Where do these go. I've five pairs at least I think.

I was thinking this.... Or like a wine rack but for gloves. Anyone got anything better.

As you've got a rail for suits, what about one of those hanging shoe-storage things? You could also fit socks and thermals into it.

e.g.

Looks like it:

Or a wider version here:

I used to use them when I was a student for storing T-shirts etc, surprisingly convenient when drawer space is limited/nonexistent.

How about half a dozen of these things, you can put your helmet, gloves, boots and leathers on them, swap them around to so you can see what matches.

You can thank me later.

Is the only possible solution.

Also opens up the opportunity for some Kevin McAlister Home Alone shenanigans.

String a washing line across your room and hang them from it.

Has the advantage of not taking up any floor space.

I use an old spice rack, although it's in the garage so doesn't have to look especially nice smile. It also holds earplugs and other bits and bobs.

Dont suppose you are interested in any advice from a fella who keeps all his stuff in a cardboard box on the garage floor... but that does look good.

I’m just about to start doing my own “man cave” (don’t like the expression) and this is what I’m considering doing for my helmets (8 Rossi reps) with an LED strip per shelf. I was considering some floating shelves on the wall but then they’ll get covered in dust, so those display units are probably the way to go.

I have 2 biker tidys in the garage, had them 8-9 years now they are great, really sturdy and you can configure how you wish. Glove storage is in baskets (standard hold 4-6 pairs) or hanger clips.

Seems they have updated the range and the price has inflated over the years, I remember them being about £120 with all the shelves/hangers you need....now you can spend nearly double that. Still a great standalone storage solution.

So simple but that looks great and fairly non-entrusive into the room itself.

It's amazing how much space bike clobber takes up, and even more how quickly it accumulates!

Why so many lids or are you making a display of old lids as well as storing current ones?

Isn't the price of all those leathers – cumulatively – more than the cost of an über suit (Scott Leathers, Hideout, BKS)? Sometimes, top-end bespoke leathers work out cheaper in the long run.

I presume you recommend riding around naked while you save up for your suit then?

I have lots of jackets as I got the best I could afford at the time, as my taste has changed, and I got more money I bought new ones. saving up for a top-end suit would have prevented me riding. And would have made losing 15kg an even more expensive affair!
