Leasing and Credit Files

I am just looking to gather some information from those that lease cars (not pcp).

I know that a hard credit search is done when leasing a car and that will appear on the various credit files. However my question is what the different funders report on those credit files (if at all) once the lease is in place.

I have leased cars through Arval and those leases don't appear on file with any agencies. I have a friend who leases with VWFS and that does however appear. My mum leases with Hitachi Capital and that doesn't show.

I am just looking for some info on the different funders, which ones show and which don't and for those that do show, what do they show. Is it the total of the lease payments or is it the value of the car (which seems odd but i've read elsewhere)

Appreciate you've got it covered already, but my experience with VWFS was that the value of the lease (not of the car) appears on your credit report as an Operating Lease.

I have 2 leases now and they do a search and they appear on your credit report as a regular payment but not "debt" where as my current PCP deal shows as the balance on your debt profile.

What are you worried about? Santander and VWFS both reported my leases.

Alphabet was displayed on my credit file under “utilities”.
