I wouldn't bother personally, too much hassle for a similar car. I'd just remap the Passat.

Go to Celtic Tunings website and stick in your registration and get a rough idea of what you Passat will end up.

Cost you probably £350 then see where you are at in a year or so.

I don't think now seems to be a good time to buy a car personally but I know that when you get the idea of a change in your head its hard to resist.

With things as uncertain as they are just now I'd stick with the Passat, but maybe get a remap.

The extra grunt may give a bit of "new car" feel!

Both alternatives are arguably a slight downgrade over a Passat, but the case for replacing a 7 year old car with a newer one could certainly be made depending on what you're trying to achieve.

I've placed a factory order for a new version of the 2014 car I have, albeit with a bigger spec.

I don't think a Focus or Octy would be noticeably more peppy than a Passat. Perhaps that remap, or maybe something more sporty if that's what underlies this feeling a need to change?
