Hi all, new to this site so I hope you can help me. I am looking for any sites/forums that have information on watch's (e.g. Rolex, Breitling)

I don't think any threads on watches have ever been locked IIRC.

Watches and cars often go together very well.

Just looking around at the moment have my eye on a Breitling B2. Wanted to know peoples views are on the watch plus others around this price.

Not a huge fan of Breitling tbh. I personally find them too fussy in their design.

I personally like Rolex, Omega (the new Planet Ocean range is beautful) and Blancpain.

Blancpain are a level above Rolex / Breitling. I have a Fifty Fathoms like this:

Beautiful watch, you can feel the quality is way above Breitling or most Rolex.

I also have a Steel and Gold Submariner, which is very nice, but not as good as the Blancpain. My Omega Speedmaster Professional with crytal back is a very special watch because of it's history. I have a number of other Rolexes, but I prefer the less bling ones.

I have many more watches, but tend to go for quality now over quantity.

Don't buy that one. It is the smaller, less desirable automatic - not the Moon Watch.

Go for the Speedmaster Professional Moon Watch (The one Armstrong and Aldrin wore to the moon). They hold their value much better.

Buy one second hand for around £1k. If you need any advice on particular ones or suppliers etc email me.

That's exactly why I'm getting it. I don't like the BIG watches - and to be honest I had given up on anything decent untill I saw that one.

I found it to be just the right size - perfect.

Every other one just dont fit when I have my collar n cuffs on (every day).

Even the Constellations (of which I have now - 15-years old) - the new ones are HUGE. Just not my cuppa.

Edited to add: Plus my criteria has changed slightly - I now want a watch with a leather strap - and of course Omega don't do a Constellation leather one - hence my looking for a new watch to start with.

I'll kep an eye out - but I don't think you will get one for £150! That actually sounds a pretty good price for an 18k one - do you happen to have a link to it (ie have you kept it in your Items I'm Watching file?)

Cartier sell consistently well - although they aren't really a serious collectors piece IMHO. I guess I would say quality wise they are middle of the range. However their style does have many admirers and there is no doubting the pedigree of the name.

Yeah - but the only single thing that puts me off it is that the case is silver and the markings on the face are gold.

If it was all silver or all gold then no-brainer.
