M4 GTS / DTM experiences ?

Been looking at various buying options for a while which includes M4 GTS / DTM.
Went to see the white Leeds car which has more presence that expected but didn’t progress as looked at AMG GTR route .

Still not bought but keep thinking about the GTS / DTM as I like the thought of the hardcore aspect. I’ve had CSL in the past and loved it.

Please can anyone share any real world experience of these models ?
Also on my list is a M2 Competition with Litchfield stage 2, so I have an open brief !!

Yes, I guess that's a bit of a downfall with brand/model specific sites!

A great car, much more special/bespoke than expected; on a par with a McLaren 12C for attention in my experience but useless in Sport Plus!

Hi Breadvan.
I guess my main questions relate around:
How special does it feel for day to day driving?
How special does it feel on the track?
Can it be used for a road trip, say a 1000 mile trip?

What's the issue when is Sport Plus, I assume it only gearbox affected, as doesn't have adaptive dampers?

I would think kangaroo-mode throttle response if it's like other F8x cars.

I bought a new M4 DTM.

I love the stripped down cage and bucket seat track weapon approach, M4 looks superb too. Wasn’t keen on the stripes.

Perfectly drivable but hated the noise, sounded like I was dragging tin cans around.

My only issue was watching it depreciate and I bailed out after 4 months.

I’d buy another at a heartbeat at circa 80k.

Think similar the the E92 orange thingy. Came down to 80 and now look

I got to drive an M4 GTS back to back with an M4 Comp and M2 on track round Oulton Park. The GTS felt very much the superior driving experience by quite a way. A lot more theatre in the cabin with the roll cage and excellent bucket seats. I have driven a few nice cars and for me the GTS is up there with the best in terms of driving experience, can't comment what it is like on the road but on track it was awesome. I didn't want to get out! It sounded great too which was surprising given how dull and not particularly pleasant the S55 exhaust note sounds in most other applications.

Definitely give one a test drive if you are considering it
