Who would be interested in a Charity run in the SW

Hi folks, don't want to spoil your day but a bit of background hope not to bore you too much but due to family history I would like to put something back here in the South West.

Just to fill you in, my mother passed away in 82 after treatment for cancer at Derriford in Plymouth. My father wss also catered for in the same hospital this year for a a triple heart bypast and to top it all off my brother in law is also terminaol irregardless of treatment at the RD & E Hospital in Exeter.

I would really love to organise a meet or a run in support of either of these hospitals so any support or suggestions would be welcme.

I will put all the hours as necessary just to make this happen.

How about 100-150 mile run round Devon and/or Cornwall with gathering/display on a seafront somewhere ie Torquay, Paignton, Newquay where ever.

My mother is terminally ill with the big C at the moment, I would like to help to.

Not sure if i'll be able to drive anywhere tho (in front of the beek in a couple of weeks due to excessive right foot :-(

if i can't make it i'll chip in somehow.

its sad but everybody knows someone whos been hurt by the big C ,i lost my sister 38 years young.
why not get a very big field and invite all the tvr clubs to turn up, howmany tivs can you get in one place .the redeye mid-essex.

I could be interested in a charity event raising money for Cancer Research or Macmillan Nurses.

It would be good to have a TVR meet at the Haynes Motor Museum near Yeovil. They have a go kart track there which could be put to good use. i.e. a few years ago I went to a Ferrari day there where you could pay £5 (to charity) for a couple of laps around the track as a passenger in a Ferrari, or alternativley a blast up the A303 as a passenger. I'm sure plenty of people would pay contribute to charity for a ride in a TVR!

Would love to participate as well if work allows, I know the cardiac guys at Derriford and I'm sure, as well as the others who have cared for your loved ones, they would be most appreciative of this sort of support.......maybe let me know when you've got the plan and I may be able to persuade a suitable hospital chappie/lassie to attend.........just an offer and good luck !

I am in Edgware and would love to participate in a run for such a worthy cause. I am a member of the Middlesex region and would suggest that you contact all the regional co-ordinators and they could get participants. Co-ordinate one date if poss, if not a few regions could band together???

I'm interested too! Though I am doing a Cancer Research UK blast from London to Syndey, OZ on a bike (23 days to go...). The more money to Cancer Research the better.

I must say a big thank you to all the support and emails I have received so far folks! Thanks!

I have spoken to Haynes Museum today and I am hoping to book the place for Sunday 11th of September with exclusive use of the track and go-karting for the likes of us menials!

Until I have full details from Haynes it is going to be hard to say how the whole thing is going to be co-ordinated yet but a small entrance fee for the meet for all attendees is looking good with all proceeds going to said charadees!
I'm going to organise a raffle, BBQ and some sort of liquid refreshment so if anyone thinks they would like to volunteer to help in any areas it would he gratefully received!

Slim chance notion - I'm going to ask if some of us could camp the night before for a little bit of a shindig the night before.
Be rude not to!
