Z4Coupe Prices on the up?

The prices of these haven't really moved much for a while. Not been following but this thread prompted me to take a look.
I had a 57 plate 3.0si around 2013, paid £10k and got £8.8k part ex around 18 months and 10k miles later which i thought was pretty good. They still seem to be sitting around that value now - very cheap motoring!

I think the reducing numbers of low (ish) mileage mint cars is keeping the prices of those stable for both the coupe/roadster, but I don’t see them rising .... yet, but I think they will
There are lots of high miles and rough ones around now and they aren’t achieving big money and are still falling
There are quite a few deluded owners that seem to think that their modded Z4 coupe with 160k and no history is worth 10k

I think they have been pretty stable for the last 6 years or so - just with a big dip when I was selling mine this time last year! I thought I had done well selling before lockdown, but post-lockdown prices shot back up. 
Bought my 1st in June 2014 on 54K miles for £9,600 and sold it in May 2016 on 62K for £10K.
Realised I should have kept it (
) so I bought a replacement in May 2016 on 77K for £8,600, but got no interest last January - until I dropped the price to £6,600 (on 91K). And now they are pretty much back to 2016 prices, but having got a good deal on an MC in December 2019 I was just spending money keeping my 3.0Si.
I think they are a bit of a bargain, sort of 80% of an M for 50% of the money, and probably make more sense than an M as a daily driver as they are much cheaper to run.
But as my Coupes have never been dailies that isn't a big issue, and for me that M experience is worth paying for (so far).

Bought a 2006 Z4C Si Sport, 69K miles, FSH, nursed like a baby, £7350 in May 20. Was slightly cheap at the time, but in the bottom quartile of prices generally for similar cars.
I'd have to be finding £10K ish minimum for similar now.

This is the one I struggled to sell a year ago on 91K miles until I dropped the price to £6,600.
But that is probably why I managed to buy this in December 2019 within the price range Vroomer mentions!

The tyres are 235/35 front and 265/30 rear.
Genuine BMW centre caps fit (about £45 for four) and the little gel M badges are a couple of £ on ebay or approx £20 for genuine ones.

Any two seater big engined petrol coupe is going to be slow to sell, particularly the likes of the Z4 as theres the exceptionally good convertible which many prefer.£10.5k for a car with 48k miles is about the same value as they have been for a while. Yes, you could firesale a car out the door quickly with a give away price but generally speaking its a matter of waiting on your customer - very low miles cars at the top of the price range even moreso. Same with most cars really.
That doesnt mean the cars are over priced, just slow sellers.

If it takes months to sell a car it's overpriced. Price it well and it sells. That's not giving it away, that's asking a fair price that the market knows is correct. The buyers are there, but not at silly prices.The 350Z and 370Z Nissan are also very slow sellers and always have been.

Using the 09 plate car on AT that's for sale at £15k the valuation for that car is £9800 for a private sale and £7700-8300 as a trade in. WBAC will give you £8100 for it. It's massively overpriced.
I don't understand why people choose to ignore valuation tools and guides, then wonder why they struggle to sell their cars and can't afford to trade it in because the dealer is low balling them. It's not that they are being lowballed, it's just they've paid over the odds.
The topic about Z4 valuations had came up here and on BMW sites countless times. The same thing happens with too many owners having unrealistic estimates of prices. Too much talk of prices skyrocketing that has never happened.
You only need to find one buyer who is equally unaware, but it's an unnecessary cycle.
I really liked these when they were new, but I'd just bought my first flat and could barely afford furniture. It's a bit of a shock to see that the new hard-top convertible that replaced them is over a decade old, and even the 3 litre model can be cheaper than the old coupe. I'd still like one, preferable blue, but as Driver101 says you're taking a big risk buying at the current asking price unless you're planning on keeping it forever.

That's your opinion – many others disagree.The Z4C is a much more usable and affordable option compared to the Z4MC.
