We need more power captain!

Anyone seen the little news article in the latest Autocar concerning 360's.
It would appear that from next year you get a 4.2 litre engine producing 460bhp (as opposed to 3.5 litre and 400bhp). Autocar reckons a 0-60 of about 4 seconds.
Anyone want to lend me about 100k?
Please.
Laurence

460bhp? Thought that occurs to me is what chassis/tyre improvements accompany the hike in power? I've had wheelspin in the current 360, in 5th, in the dry. Christ knows how you put the extra power down w/o going to 4wd. And I'm not even going to THINK about what it'd be like in the wet.
wheelspin in 5th does not equal fun
Well guys, I've actually been hearing rumours from sources close to the factory that Ferrari have begun work on a sort of 360 GTO.
For road use - lightened, made more powerful, more aggressive - lots of interior trim chucked in the bin. Possibly to honour the success of the great man himself - herr Schumacher.

As if the current 360 needs to be any faster
Wheelspin in 5th in the dry isn't exactly slow is it!!!
Kev: In all your 360 wisdom do you think the chassis could handle the extra hike in power. Some people have complained about the handling being a little twitchy already.
Not that we experienced this on the memorable donny blast
Do you think this may cause problems???
460bhp and 0-60 in 4 seconds is all well and good, providing the overall package isn't ruined in the process.
I presume Ferrari have done this to close the performance gap between the 360 and the 911 Turbo. Correct???
Is this the Masser engined car you were talking of Kev???
I'd like to see this stripped out road racer your talking of Manu. That would be a very special machine indeed.

Yeah, junk the rubbish like comfy seats and sound deadening. This car sounds much more like my cup of Earl Grey.
Get it on order now Kev!
Cheers

You get wheelspin whenever the back end goes a bit light such as a bumpy surface, crosswind or when the road is a bit greasy in places. It's not really that dramatic because it's usually short lived (2-3 secs at most). It gets to be fun when you need to join a dual carriageway from a 'B' road where the entry is uphill and underneath a tree; this is on my way to work and if it's ever so slightly moist, the back wheels don't get traction so the ASR cuts in and you go nowhere with little farty noises coming from the engine. Now this is 'fun' as all the people behind you think "Ha- big wallet small dick".
Sorry to disappoint you but I'm not in the market for the Maser-engined version coming out next year, nor the GTO! Personally, I don't have the talent or expertise to find the 360 underpowered ; it's a challenge to exploit what it has already so more bhp simply makes it faster in a straight line, although I would expect less mass to help in the corners. Having spouted all this crap, I nevertheless retain the right to change my mind if it looks or sounds gorgeous

In your 360 the painted white lines on the road also have the same effect

yeah Kev- it was well funny when Ninja missed the shift in your 360 - he had already competely disnegaged the clutch and then pulled the gear lever at 8500rpm.... suprised you didn't hear that earth shatteringly loud GROOOOOUUUUUUNNNCH..... almost put your 360 into a spin...
What was better was when he kerbed the left side going over that bridge.
Damn!

Yeah, I was surprised just how well power shifting worked on your 355 Ninja- that rev limiter's soft as one of your carpets mate, and perfect for holding it at 9K, dip the clutch and bang in the next gear. Took off like a scalded CAT! Was well impressed.
