Missus golf went in for MOT and failed emissions so done a CC with no option as it had failed

With lockdown and having a baby it's sat on the drive mostly so would the Emissions likely to had passed if it was clearing out and cycling?

Can you explain what you mean by 'clearing out' and 'cycling'? It's hard to guess what these mean in the context of an MOT test.

By 'carbon clean' do you mean some sort of treatment tipped into the intake system?

Cycle as in a DPF cycle?

And as for the carbon clean im assuming is what you mention so a chimney sweep to get the emissions down...

Sorry this is vague but bear in mind I've had the missus shouting this through a room while I'm on work calls

Would it not have been betted to look at the test sheet, see exactly which aspects were a fail, and then rectify the problem ?

Exactly what were the emissions test results ?

And as others say.....what are you meaning by "clearing out and cycling" ? As it is not any normal terminology.

Are you asking us or telling us? We know less than you do. If you don't know what the symptoms were or what has been attempted to fix it, we don't know either. I have no idea what you mean by chimney sweep.

You need to either find somebody you trust to sort the problem out, or get an actual technical explanation of what the symptoms are and what diagnosis or repair has been carried out.
