Hi all, I’m running a 315 width on a 12” rear wheel. I bought what I thought was the correct tire size for the wheel however the rears seem to be ‘stretched’ on the wheel and not ‘square’ as most fitments would be. I’ve done about 5K miles at OEM PSI with no issues.... am I pushing my luck with these? Don’t want to chance a blowout... I’m worried about sidewall safety, Thanks

Same appearance on the fronts 245/30/21 on a 9” wheel. Tires are practically painted on there! biggrin

No, they're fine. They just look a bit stretched because the rim protection gives the appearance of more curve.

The sizes appear to be theoretically correct but they do look quite far stretched to the eye, I have to admit, I wouldn't be happy with them like that.

The manufactures website usually has the specs for the tyres, with a range of wheel widths for each size.

Thanks for the replies.... so that ~flange of rubber near the edge of the rim is actually some sort of wheel protection? I also looked around online , didn’t find much on Michelin’s site but found some other cars running 325 and 335 on a 12 that filled out the wheel better , maybe next set I should bump up to a 325 and 255 front... hell those may be easier sizes to find tires for!..... the 315 and 21” combo wasnt easy or cheap
