Thought id do a little right up on my m3 build.
After having many track cars and a trip to the ring in my GT3 was cut short due to my carbon ceramics delaminating. I went to Apex Taxis and saw there lovely team schirmer E92. To cut a long story short, I came back and had to own a m3.
So the journey begun to find a standard E92 M3 in frozen grey. I wanted frozen grey as I Wass told they had only made 109 of them.
Cut to May last year. I found a low mileage 45k car with full BMW service history. I travelled from London to Devon to pick it up.
The drive home was disappointing, coming from a full track m3 to a standard car it was a bit of a shock. They are a great car with a good engine but are brakes are ste and the steering wasn't very precise.
I booked the car straight into Mumbray Motorsports who have now made a lot of these clubsport cars. I ordered all the parts from Martin at MS Motorsport over the next few days.
With advice from Paul and Martin I settled for the following...

KW Clubsport Suspension
AP BBK CP5555M1050 with RS 29 in the front and RS19 in the rear
Recaro SPG XL seats
VAC mounts and brackets
Recaro Steel Side Mounts
Schroth Clubman 6 point harnesses
Macht Schnell tow strap
Morosso power steering catch tank
Protrack 10 x 18 and 11 x 18 wheels
Spare set of Apex Arc 8 wheels square set up 18's
MK Motorsport GT4 carbon front splitter
Mk Motorsport GT4 carbon rear wing
Weichers Half Cage
Brake cooling kit
Full GEO setup
Schirmer rear bumper cut out
GTS arm rest
Seat delete kit in full alcantara
Gauges to monitor temps etc
fire extinguisher
Full detail

It has been great fun building this car. Ive kept it as a clubsport spec rather than full blown track car, as I still wanted radio, aircon and electric windows etc.
My first Trackday was at Snetterton. I was blown away, having had a few GT3's 997 and 991. For the money I feel you can't get a better setup. Sharp, precise and most of all involving to drive. Ive tracked almost all my cars from Ariel Atom 3 supercharged to Nissan GTR's. Yes they are fun, but bang for buck the M3 at sub 40k is a great all rounder.
ill try to upload some pics

Surely it needed Supercharging, the power is crap from that engine unless dropped in a lighter body.

Supercharge the naturally aspirated s65, Noooooo! The power might be “crap” as you put it, but they seem to lap the ring quite well smile

Looks great and some well chosen modifications. Big fan of these and would love to built something like this.

Martin / MS motorsports is my go to too. Prices are amongst the best and fast delivery on top.

That looks really nice, I have a space grey e92 m3 and am constantly thinking about going down this slippery slope, but that front GT4 lip looks like it could turn into a costly consumable on the road!

I might just stick with the F80 m3 brake upgrade, pagid RS29 pads and cup2tyres with 219M square 18" wheels for the sleeper look. I've recently fitted the competition EDC suspension with springs so will report back on track performance improvements if any.

Is yours DCT, and what are the rear bumper cut outs for?

I have a club sport spec e46 m3, if you've driven one, how much improvement is the e92 on track?

I had an e46 m3 which I built into a full track car, although it was still road legal but really just about, now have a Schirmer built e92, and although I love the e92 and it is faster, the wee e46 can still hold it’s own, one of the most noticeable differences straight away is the extra weight of the e92.

I disagree, its a great engine. you need to go in a proper track spec m3. you'd be very surprised.

to answer your questions, ill be replacing the front gt4 splitter again this year with another one as they do get caught and scratched. I see it as a consumable part.
mine is a DCT with gts software and remap from evolve.
the rear bumper cut outs are to stop the rear bumper acting like a parachute from the increased down force from the front splitter and rear wing.
ive had a e46 m3 tracker which I loved but the e92 is a different animal

The spec of the car is pretty much a full Schirmer Gt build apart from the engine upgrade to 4.4, think outta the 49 or so full builds there’s only 10 or less have that, although mine has schrink cams and carbon airbox which not many have. When I bought it, the only thing it didn’t have was his full cage and carbon inside bits but I got that done.

What a great car!! I was speaking to Tom at Schirmer about having mine made into a 4.4 stroker but at 50k to do the work ill give it a miss.
