Just spent £100 on a CD Changer for the Jaguar. It's a very specific one that is the only kind that will work in my care (£350 new from dealer).

The display is giving an error code, and my local Jag dealer's technician is increasingly sure the changer might be knackered.

If the seller won't refund (I haven't left feedback yet) can I get my money back via PayPal?

Possibly - you can lodge a complaint and they will open a file and encourage your seller to resolve the problem. It's not a brilliant system though.

Best bet is to send a reasonable email to the seller, explaining that while they may not have known there was a fault, the item is useless and you require a refund.

Unless the seller is willing to refund your money you are screwed. Paypal won't be interested in the slightest.

Send a POLITE e-mail to the seller explaining the situation, and see what he says...

I find MOST sellers to be quite reasonable.....

Failing that e-mail eBay, as they have a "disputes" procedure, only leave negative feedback as the last resort.............

Paypal is owned by eBay by the way........
