At last....we picked up our new CV8 on Saturday!

The car was the demonstrator at Underwoods in Colchester, but only had 130 miles on the clock by the time we got it. Put another 200 miles on it since Sat, covering both motorway and local roads. Obviously taking it easy to start with, but so far I'm very impressed with the car all round.

I used to have a Cerbera which got lots of admiring looks and thumbs-up, but I'm really surprised at the attention the Monaro has got so far. It really is a handsome and purposeful looking car.

Took the car to Armourfend today to have the stonechip protective film applied. I know there are mixed feelings on Armourfend, but I had it on the TVR and was impressed with the protection it gave. I was there most of the day as mine was the first Monaro they've done and they used it to take a complete set of templates. If anyone else fancies it, the guys at their head office in Nazing are a very nice bunch (real petrolheads) and did a superb job.

Didn't get around to taking any pics this weekend, but will do next weekend, and I'll try and post a couple on here. Look forward to meeting up with fellow owners at any gatherings I can get along to.

Cheers,

Neil

Hello Neil

Hope you continue to enjoy the car.

It is probably quite a difference for your last car, but the fun has just begun.

Thanks Rob!

Can't wait for the weekend so I can get out and play again. Meanwhile I'm stuck in the office and my wife is out in it today...sometimes life just isn't fair.

Cheers,

Neil

Hi Bundaberg,
I actually live in Rayleigh. I did test drive their '04 Monaro but they sold that one before I was in a position to buy it myself (I believe the '04 did go to a local guy). I saw the '05 model just after they registered it and I put a deposit down on that one. Had to wait almost 3 months for it...but it was worth it!

Cheers,

Neil

i might have to swing past ur way when i get a weekend away from my regiment, we could scare all the boy racers down southend , word of warning if u "accidentally" just creep over 70mph on the A12 between chelmsford & colchester & the A120 colchester - clacton/harwich as the local have an unmarked black BMW 330ci AR54DLD oops did i just say that & ruin their surprise?

Hi Russ

Yep, car and family are well thanks. Hope everything is ok with you. We will definitely be at the Forresters on Sunday. Spoke to Pauline about us parking the Monaro at the top of the drive! Look forward to seeing you there.

Cheers,

Neil
