These days it is all too common for us to complain about a product / person / service. We dont seem to offer praise when it is due.

This praise is well earned.

I purchased my 'liz from Westover Sports cars in Poole. Every contact I have had with these guys has been dealt with superbly and because I was so eager to get my car, Andrew pulled some strings and got me the car (in my very detailed speck) in under 4 weeks. That is service.

My Elise ownership has not been entirley smooth. From a dodgy stereo which was replaced with the higher speck model to a PITA random starting problem which the guys at the service centre tried everything to cure only for a very clever young tech to find a bent pin in the ECU connector.

A few times when the starting problem occured, I was less than a gentleman on the phone but at all times I was treated like a gentleman.

Recently I had some major engine problems which Lotus could have simply rejected and refused the waranty claim (it was partly my fault). Dominic (who manages the service center) faught my corner and got a full engine re-build paid for by Lotus. He has put up with me harasing him every day for news of my car and he (and his staff) have done this with good cheer.

The guys in the workshop are superb. I would particularly like to thank Christophe and Martin for thier dilegence and hard work.

We own a specialist car and it requires specialist care. I like to do business with people who treat me well, treat me like a customer and have my interests at heart. These guys are the finest and most professional I have ever dealt with. They have risen to a challenge of a difficult and demanding customer and I am very happy.

Thanks Guys, I know some of you lurk and some post. Beer is on me!

Now those stripes.....

Yep, overall, Westover are a good bunch. Although they failed to identify a persistent fault with my car which caused no end of problems, but I won't bore people with that. But as said, they do try their best.

Fair play, i agree we are quick to get eggy when things go wrong. but what about those who really look after us? Credit should be given where it is due. I know someone who takes her Elise up to Westover from south devon (they meet her half-way with a transporter) and she always sings their praises. good on them for looking after people.

good on you gooby for bigging up good service and giving credit where its deserved.

My first boss taught me a great lesson in life when I'd screwed something up royally having only been in the business a few months:

"Everybody makes mistakes - the measure of a person is how they deal with them and strive never to make the same ones again."

It is so nice to have praise for a job well done and i'm sure that Martin and Christophe will be particularly pleased to hear that you are happy.

As most dealers will tell you, we do strive to do a good job and sometimes things do go wrong - as S Works says - it is preferable to have things dealt with properly if they do.

All too often you only hear tales of woe, so thank you Gooby for taking the time and effort to let people know you've had good service.

Now, we'll try and keep it up!

Cheers

Andrew
