I know these have been discussed a few times and many people have used the various versions with great success.

A word of caution however, if anyone is thinking of treating themselves, ensure that you have a Microsoft enabled laptop of PC to connect it to, to load the software. It doesn't work with Apple products.

Luckily I was able to snaffle the in laws old PC.

I have received mine today and have been unable to download any software even using my PC after having accessed FoxAssist.
Probably my total lack of computer skills/jargon but have had to email Foxwell for help.

Any hints most welcome.

I had a similar issue and also lack of computer skills. I seem to remember I went on another foxwell site and managed to download. It might have been the one recommended in the instructions and not the foxwell web page. There is a you tube page as well. Hope this helps Tim

Use the Foxwelltech.us site rather than the other one. Register your device on there. You’ll just need the serial nr, not a password for the unit, which the other site asks for.

Download Foxassist and put in your serial number and you should be good to go.

Did you order the unit with 1 free software ? If not, you’ll need to purchase the AM one.

Hope that helps !

Thanks for your response.

Downloaded FoxAssist, scanner activated and registered but that’s where I came unstuck!

Kit came with a USB lead but also a little usb stick. Thought they all came with one make free software and I asked for Aston Martin.

How much did you pay ? I think the £124ish ones don’t come with free download, but worth checking back in the website.

If it does you may need to email sales@foxwell to get it activated. I went for a 2 manufacturer unit. The first (Merc) downloaded fine and the Aston version I’ve had to email sales.

Awaiting an email back as they were shut for NY.

Incidentally - I have no idea what that little usb thing is for.

Just checked that invoice does, in fact , specify Aston Martin as free download.

Paid £123.

Yes, got auto response of new year, so will have to be patient and wait upon reply.

Thanks again.

The USB has the free software for the one vehicle you chose.

Thanks - seemed to be able to download it and update without too much trouble. David - sounds like that’s where your missing Aston software is !

Hi All,

Thought I would advise my experiences with my newly purchased NT530.

1. The USB stick that was supplied was not readable (USB device error) by 3 different PCs that have here but believe that this was to provide the Aston Martin software.
2. I paid £124 and this price includes one down-load so I proceede to get it from the website.
3. I tried to down load my Aston Martin Software from the website without success
4. I realised that there was a bug in the download procedure (at least there was on my PC) - The bug was that the window that opened to allow you to input your product serial number was hidden behind the main window and I only discovered it by chance.
5. Even when I entered the serial number, I did not get any clear message that the download had started or was successful. I only found that it had downloaded to the PC when I checked the Windows Downloads.
6. Additionally the NT530 itself did not indicate that the software had downloaded and appeared to Hang. It worked when the NT530 was powered back up.

Hope this helps

That is correct David, though I realized it too late after having downloaded via the FoxAssist.

Problem solved!

Despite registering the scanner and being told by FoxAssist that it was activated, it would not recognise it!
Downloaded scanner info from scanner to FoxAssist via usb cable and issue solved. Allowed me to download Aston software so should be good to go now.

Thanks to all for advice.

Where have you all been buying the NT530 (with the Aston software pre-loaded)?

Purchased mine from Foxwell website, although it comes with one free OEM software of your choice ( in our case Aston Martin ) you have to work out how to load it yourself - hence my posts above! Actually, like most things, it’s quite easy when you know how!

Thanks David - is anyone running 2 manufacturers on the same unit? Is it easy to switch between, or do you need to re-load the software each time?

My understanding is you can load up to 5 manufactures on one machine but each extra one costs about £60 for the software.

Its quite easy as if you have multiple manufacturers loaded, you simply select the relevant one after you've plugged in, you don't have to re-load or anything
