Bleak times.

Anyone still in the UAE?

If so, how many people do you know who left last year?

Im out here now for the next month or two.

If you think this is bleak, visit the UK.

Would dearly love to stay if I can arrange it!

Still here, will be 14 years (of my second stint) in May this year.

Personally the only people I knew that left last year did so of their own accord, professionally is a different matter..

No plans to leave any time soon unless I am forced to!

Yup we’re still here. 17 years and counting.

No plans to leave just yet - probably do another 5 or so years and then see what takes our fancy.

Know a few people who’ve left of their own accord and a few who have been forced out due to job losses. Overall not as many as I was expecting.

Just under three years. Feel very fortunate to be here this year. Let’s hope these cases don’t get out of hand

Still here aye.

Changed role (same company) due to redundancy prior to covid which was lucky. Doubled down on that by chucking all my savings into a side business which is looking promising so far. Looks like I’ll be here for a while yet (10yrs in April).

Wages are down and it’s caused a few to dust off the exit strategy, I don’t know anyone who has left tbh. Most of my friends are kinda embedded here and/or in industries that aren’t boom or bust. Even the few redundancy casualties are still here, having started their own consultancy firms within the same industry.

Worst part has been a marked deterioration in social life and inability to travel. All work and no play makes it stressful at times.

Still here too, just over 8yrs now.

Worked for a few different companies but now very settled for the last 4 yrs at a British private school management company. We are still growing and have a number of acquisitions / greenfields up and coming.

Like many though, without travelling it kind of sucks a bit but it'll come back in time.

I also don't know many who have left and the roads seem just as annoyingly busy in rush hour as normal!

2 more years for us and then probably to Spain.

Just coming up to 7 years for us.

Had not expected to be here this long but turns out probably the best place to be given what is happening elsewhere.

Have decided to get two smaller cars inside of the giant SUV that we have so that has been put up for sale. Already had the 'last price/best price' drivel....crossing fingers!

Hi, I am still in Abu Dhabi after 8.5 years.

Plenty of people I know have already been terminated and left UAE towards the end of 2020. I am hanging in for as long as possible as getting a job in UK seems impossible
