Ha! That's the bike that made me get my licence after my mate took me out on his. I decided I needed a bike and vowed never to get on the back of one again!

I hope you're tall! Post up some pictures, is it a lucky explorer?

My mate had LE and spent a fortune on it. Custom exhaust, billet front caliper, 944 big hire kit. The had someone port the heads and put fancy cams in it. I remember him traveling hundreds of miles in the van taking it to someone who could tune the injection on a Dyno.

That's bloody lovely. And no, I couldn't sleep the night before I bought my first bike.

Although adventure bikes aren't really my thing, I have a proper soft spot for the 90s bikes that ran in the Dakar.

No, there's nothing better than a new bike day.

Thats lovely.

Not going to lose that in the bike park either, what an iconic paint scheme too.

Let us know how it rides when you get out on it.

cracking bike OP! Really like the look of that cool

I've got a proper hankering for a multi-cylinder "classic" adventure bike. I missed out on an XTZ750 only a few weeks back that sold for less than 2k!!

Love the "stance" it has with the bulge in the top of the tank too! Watching this thread with interest

Cleaning? It's spotless! (and it's a Paris-Dakar machine, it should be dirty!)

Looks good, I do fancy an older big trailie but I never actually ride my bikes I’ve already got!

Not had a new bike (or car) day in a couple of years but I’m the same, can’t ever sleep! Even if it’s something really mundane!

Can I ask if it made any financial sense ?

I'm used to most European Countries importing our cars / bikes as they are generally cheaper here

How much was it to ship door to door ?

One of my hero bikes. These are my biking equivalent of the JPS Lotus F1 cars. Such an iconic bike.

I hope you enjoy every minute of your ownership.

Wonderful. I'm also a big fan of the P-D adventure bikes. I'm hoping for an RD03 Africa Twin one day. Also being 6' 5'' these bikes are more likely to fit! (I'm glad I don't have thing for pit bikes 😂)

Do doubt you have come across Harry's Garage on YouTube? Harry has a penchant for Paris Dakar nostalgia.
