Watching F1 on TV
Discussion
I took out a repeating monthly pass to NOWTV to watch F1 this season. A bit of a bargain given the quality of the races. I turned off the sound and went with Radio5Live. It increased the fun. I recommend both.
I cancelled today. Despite expectations of having to faff about for some time, having to email, and all that stuff. But no. It was straighforward and easy. That makes a change.
When I went through the process, I was offered two months at 2/3rds the rate for one month, so there's a pointer for someone.

I did the same, 3 months at a very decent rate and cancelled in plenty time. Then followed that by a Now TV voucher that was sourced on eBay IIRC and a bit cheaper than Now TV options. I did check back but the cheaper options seemed to have disappeared now.
I've used Now TV for a couple years now, my job takes me away from home a lot and paying for Sky wasn't adding up, if it ever could TBH so a Now TV voucher for a week or months access was ideal.

I must admit I avoided NowTV (and sky!) for years but this year I buckled at the promise of 3 or even 4 races a month at times. I've been really happy, and actually very happy with what I paid for.
I am tempted to cancel it from now until March when the season starts, but I'm currently on a deal at £25p/m (Sky sports only) until Oct 2021.
What is everyone paying? Reckon its worth me paying another £75 between now and March to probably not use it, or try and get another deal in March?
How much is everyone else paying for NowTV?

Quick question - is anyone using the Android app for viewing NowTV and if so how good is it?
I previously used NowTV on one of their repurposed Roku boxes and it was restricted to 720p and was a bit slow and buggy.
I have Android TV on several devices now and I'd consider giving NowTV another shot if the experience has improved any.

That's what I've done all year, android app on my phone and linked to my (Sony Android) smart TV.Generally its worked very well, only thing I've noticed in the past few weeks is that sometimes, gradually the audio and video go slowly out of sync - so I need to change channel and back again.
Also - you have limited devices - 2 at a time, and a limit on how often you can change them (to stop you giving out your login to all your friends, fair enough).

I missed out on the deal at the beginning of the season so i've been paying 33 per month, which is one of the reasons that I cancelled the sub to try and pick a decent deal before the next season. I don't really watch any other sports so makes no sense to carry it on. NOW TV is a breath of fresh air compared to the shenanigans of cancelling a Sky contract.
We have a Sky TV contract and added the £10 a month 30 day rolling contract for Sky F1. A great decision as it turns out, but it's an absolute mare trying to get it removed now. You HAVE to phone them, but they are way to busy to actually accept calls, so you have to battle with an automated system which so far for me has not worked at all. Still haven't been able to cancel...They still doing that? I cancelled Sky many years ago as I was sick of their business practises and I will have nothing to do with them until this day. Unfortunately more and more companies are doing business their way now. You can add on anything you like with a click of a mouse but if you want to cancel you have to speak to someone who then gives it the hard sell and generally you end up getting the whole package for way less than if you hadn't tried to cancel. Disgusting way to do business in my book, give people your best price all the time rather than ripping of those who don't complain.
There are many reasons I fell out of love with F1 but Sky is by far the biggest.

It's out of sync with all the streaming services also offering 30 day rolling contracts (Netflix, Disney+ etc) which is a simple click of a button to cancel. There are many reasons I fell out of love with F1 but Sky is by far the biggest.
If an automated call can cancel it for you (in theory) the technology must be there to allow you to click a button and do it.
Watch here using a VPN Belgian server. No charge.

I've been using F1 TV with a VPN to watch the races, subscribing through the app store and about £40 a year for the VPN. You dont get commentary until the F1 cut screen starts a few minutes before the race/qualifying. I'll not be going back to SKY or NOW TV.
Which country do you use for the VPN to access F1 TV races? Also, do you not have an issue paying for the F1 TV subscription with a UK-based bank/card?Cheers
