Starter Motor Clicking

As you can see from all my posts things are coming to an end and I'm ready to fire the engine up.

When I hit the start button this morning the starter just clicked away.

Is this a bad earth or should I be looking at something else?

Have you connected all of the wires to the starter. Daft question but the extra brown wire that goes on the starter's main power feed is pretty important...and easy to miss out.

Other than that checking the earth is the next thing. If the starter itself is clicking then there must be juice getting to it...just not enough.

Hi Dave,

Yep I have the main + batt cable, brown and MSD on one connector and white/red on other.

Starter motor is definately clicking so will leave battery on charge a bit longer,

mike, also make sure the engine to chassis earth is good as well. you may find smoke as well if it isnt ..dave

Is this just a single click or a heavy machine gun type clatter?
If the former then you need to look for the missing /bad connection or the battery is well dead.
If the latter then the battery is just too low to keep the starter engaged.

If this is your first start then I would put jump leads onto it anyway as things are going to be rather tight and your little battery is not going to like it.

Definately the latter "machine gun fire".

I'll ask the alarm installer to bring his boost pack tomorrow then.
