Something nice that wont depreciate much
Discussion
just pondering whether money in the bank getting bugger all interest would be better invested in a car with little or no depreciation?
Lets say £10K - £30K to buy something nice, has to be usable and would be used at mostly weekends, obviously petrol, low bork factor (if thats possible) and could be turned back into cash down the line at least 12 months on)
Is there such a car or cars? or is this just plain stupid?

I’d say it depends what you want to achieve financially because even something with little or no depreciation costs a good chunk every year to keep it on the road, in real terms it costs you to keep it, unlike your money in the bank.
That being said, something sufficiently old isnt a bad place to put your money, just write the running costs off as the fun tax.
I’d also recommend that it needs to be garages and dry use only because rust and rot will make it depreciate.
Definitely pick something that you really really like or you will get bored of it pretty quickly. Good luck.

I'd say a relatively modern 2 seat sports car. Something like an Elise as suggested above or maybe the nicest S2000 you can find. You should get a convertible at a decent price as it's winter, then maybe sell it in 15 months when we are coming into the spring.
The Honda shouldn't cost too much to run if you find a good example. Might even go up in value too if you keep it well and don't do much mileage.
