Went to Wilson Lotus/ Chadwell Heath yesterday to check out the black Exige. I have always preferred dark colours (looks more menacing IMO), but as it raining, I checked out the Exige in the showroom first.

There stood an Exige in English white, which is almost a creamy colour! I was absolutely gobsmacked at how good it actually looked!!

I know it'll be a nightmare to keep clean, but what do you think of English White in terms of resale value?
thanks.

Looks ok on the Exige but dont expect it to be as popular as the more usual colours come resale time.

I have to admit, I'm becoming more and more drawn to some modern white cars, must be all the Miami Vice I'm currently watching!!

I think it looks the absolute dogs danglies. Saw one on the motorway a while back and was gobsmacked.

And I am the No. 1 advocate of BLACK on this website

If you like the way the Exige S2 drives, do it - you'll be the ultimate White Van Man

White looks great on exotics so I think the Exige qualifies!

Can't beat it on a Lambo Countach! Mmmmm fond childhood memories coming flooding back.

A Countach and a Lotus Esprit (the Giugiaro ones) look absolutely fan-tas-tic in white.

Choosing a 'different' colour doesn't necessarily mean that your car can't be sold, or will lose value a lot.
On the contrary, it can be an advantage because it stands out of the crowd.

I'd go for it!

Perosonally I'd avoid it. I don't think it looks nearly as good as other colours and I think you will suffer come sale/trade in time becuase a significant number of people will be put off the colour.

Does anyone have any images of the Exige in Old English White?

Heres the one at Wilsons

Bell & Colville used to have a white one with a red stripe down the side and red alloys like a 911 GT3RS copy which looked quite good. Cant find it now though.

To me, that is a thing of beauty.

Spoils it for me, I think the plain white on the S2 Exige looks bloody great.

Funny you raise this! I did inquire about having 2 black stripes, and the salesman quoted 800 big ones!!!!! Considering EW is a "free" colour, it's a big sting for 2 black stripes!!

When I have time, I'll ring Lotus and get a 2 PCP (they call it preference) quotes, one for black and for white. Be interesting to see whether there are any difference on the guaranteed value?

I used to see a Type 23 pass by on the way to work everyday...what a great pressence it had on the road, very unsual! I'm looking for one now...pretty rare! does the white colour actually put some folks off, and have they ever seen a type 23 in the flesh?

I like alternative paintjobs, like this 'Type 49' (is it?):
.
OEW is a very nice looking colour too... Classic.

glad to see some talking up of OEW. See my profile a piccie. Don't everyone go and get one though, I kind of like being the only one around.

I think it will effect the resale, that car was up at 31K IIRC 8 weeks ago or so when I was last at Wilsons.

How ever I have never thought resale when I buy a car, and in the end compare it with other cars in similar spec you are getting it at a cheaper price so swings and roundabouts.

I love white, but having owned light coloured cars Yellow and White, the white will get dirty as soon as you drive it, but proberly won't show the chips up too bad.
