MOT Advisories
Discussion
Looking at a potential purchase and did a quick check on the MOT history. Please could someone explain the advisories noted here? Why has an engine cover and tray been noted? Is it because those things prevent inspection of the engine bay? Wouldn’t that be a fail? Forgive my ignorance if it’s something simple!
It's a total nonsense.
Call me cynical but I can't help thinking testers have to meet some sort of target for advisories!
I bought a car in December 2014 and it came with a year's MOT in 2014 with advisories for engine covers and undertrays being fitted.
I took it for a test in 2015, 2016 and 2017 with exactly the same things fitted and had no advisories for them (although I did get some others)!
