Wimbledon touts advice!

The wife is going to Wimbledon on Friday and I wondered if anyone had good advice for obtaining the best price from a tout for a semi-final seat, other than the obvious of approaching them 2 minutes before the match starts.

We went to Wimbledon on Saturday (Court One - BRILLIANT day ), and according to the official Wimbledon programme, page 10, it says

DAILY TICKETS
For the Centre, No 1 and No 2 Courts

A limited number of seat tickets for these courts can be purchased on the day at the turnstiles from 10.30am at Gate 3. These tickets cannot be booked in advance of the days for which they are used and can be purchased only at Gate 3.

Play is scheduled to begin at 1.00pm on Centre and No 1 Courts on all days except for the Final Saturday and Sunday.




By the way, we paid £44 each for a ticket in the ballot.

It should be mentioned that you will either need to camp out overnight or arrive about 4am to stand any chance of getting one of those tickets.
