Purchasing our company car from Zenith - tips please ??

Hi everyone.

My partners current company car is due to be returned to Zenith later this month and we would like to purchase. We requested the price and it’s more than we expected so I wondered if anyone had any joy negotiating in a similar situation, as well as any suggestions on tactics as I’m sure they are not just going to flex easily, if at all.

For context I’m normally pretty good at getting a deal when purchasing a car from a retailer, but via email with a leasing firm is new to me!

My experience of trying to buy company cars (not from zenith) is that the first price is quite high. Later prices seem get a bit lower, if you can wait and ask for another price.
They don’t seem to go too cheap, one lease company said they had no ability to discount prices in order to prevent fraud and prices were based on auction averages.

One of my ex company cars I declined to buy, it appeared on a garage forecourt a few months later at a retail price lower than the price I had been given to buy it from the lease company.
