Rossi still returning positive Covid results, Garrett Gerloff on standby to ride Rossi's bike this weekend "until he posts two consecutive negative PCR results conducted 48 hours apart (as per FIM rules) and Tuesday's test was again positive."

I suspect this is down to Red Bull (Toprak) v Monster Energy (Yamaha) sponsor clash.

Gerloff? Isn't he a WSBK rookie this year?

I suspect staying upright for the race would be a result tbh.....

Always interesting to see a total noob on a full factory deal for the first time......

A few whispers around the net that MM93 has had a third operation and that things are not going as expected.

I really hope that isnt the case.

I also wouldnt be surprised to see a Yam motor go boom any time soon, Vinales in particular is over time and mileage by a chunk on his remaining few motors.......

If that's the case we could see Dovi on a Repsol Honda next year. Have seen chat that Lorenzo was slower round Portimao than the current MotoGP riders on road bikes - and Jorge was on a MotoGP bike. If that's the case it's no wonder he got the tin tack.

Why is Lorenzo not riding his bike? What are Yamaha paying him for?

Lecuona is out for the weekend - https://www.crash.net/motogp/news/947670/1/covid-i...

"Although Lecuona passed the usual pre-race PCR (Covid-19) test, a positive result for his brother and assistant prevents him from travelling to Valencia this week."

That's tough and a warning for others.

After the row Dovi had with HRC a few years back, I very much doubt that.

Lot of water under the bridge since then, they'd be cutting off their noses to spite their faces. I remember that, imagine the mighty HRC being forced to honour the contract!

Yamaha are now under investigation for allegedly running illegal MotoGP engines during the Spanish Grand Prix weekend at Jerez earlier in the year. Fabio won both of them, if both races are being investigated.

https://twitter.com/autosport/status/1324393329719...

Another twist to the twisty turney season.

Imagine if they DQ'd the Yamahas and the results changed.

From
Race 1) Quartararo, Vinales Dovi, to Dovi, Miller, Espargaro.
Race 2) Quartararo, Vinales, Rossi, to Nakagami, Mir, Dovi.

If a UFO landed on the track mid-race and Elvis came walking down the ramp I would be less gobsmacked than I am with this season so far. rofl

How come everyone is OK with Toprak not being allowed on the Yamaha due to the Red Bull vs Monster sponsorship clash, but everyone said it didn’t matter with Crutchlow having a similar clash when plenty were jumping up and down for him to get the HRC Repsol ride?
