The Collecting Cars Porsche thread…

Some of these cars are covered off in other threads but given the amount of interesting stuff going through Collecting Cars I thought it would be good if anyone could offer advice, there's been a couple of cars I've been interested in buying and the advice here is pretty strong!

I bid up to £50,500~ inc fees on the high mileage GT3, that’s my limit. Good comfort gt3’s with low miles start at 68k~ so for me the gap wasn’t worth it any smaller

Probably go mid 50’s?

Impressed with how strong the market remains...

With asking prices of non-CS RS being north of £150k, I'm surprised this one is lingering around at less than half that, albeit with 24hrs still to run. Does the lack of originality really matter so much? I'd have thought the modifications would make it more desirable as a tool to spank around a track all day.

That 964 has been used as it’s maker intended...unfortunately all the 964 RS’s that sell for £150k plus are original panel OEM spec cars...and original paint too if you want to get close to £200k for them.

Without it’s matching numbers engine, magnesium cup wheels etc it’s a great track car for someone and I suppose it’s up against more modern GT3’s. Be interesting to see what it sells for !

Still made £117k inc commissions. Thats top money considering history/LHD but worth every penny imo.

I know of crashed ones rebuilt by 9m and others where vendors asking between 200-250k. Crazy I agree but I feel if I wanted a new car today I'd build my own and it would maybe cost me even more than this. The new stuff doesn't hold a candle to that yellow RS and its a fantastic base to do something amazing..

This will be very interesting and CC is an interesting “venue” to sell a car like this. Very original 2.7 RS which was sold my Maxted Page a couple of years ago for pretty big money....it’s been for sale for circa £750k I think so will be their most expensive sale if it goes through. Not a car to buy unless you’ve had it inspected by someone who really, really knows what they are looking at.

The lovely green one failed to sell at less than that a couple of weeks ago.

Chartreuse car that sold after the auction closed a couple of weeks ago was a Touring with Lightweight bits. The cars that get the best prices as per any Porsche are the ones that are as they left the factory...even more so with an RS.

I think this car will get bid to a lot more than £500k whether it sells is another matter.

Previous sold for £67310 inc fees, now has OPC warranty, new disks & pads up front and a splitter to boot... Believe GTSJoe is owner, I'd be wanting at least what I paid for it back...!

It sold for £63.5 + fees back in June, so perhaps a couple Ks less? 997s prices all over the place so could be anything.

Looks like a very nice car.

Or quite a bit more it’s got a full Porsche warranty on it now, didn’t have that back in June.

It was over bid last time, but now has had £6k work, so time will tell I guess in 9 hours.

As I said in 9 hours will will see, it's harder to call as it now has had a £6k spend on the car which boosts confidence in the car also being though an OPC.

The car stands the seller at £73,200.

So to answer your question , yes it was over bid on and the seller won't get his money back imho, one sale don't make the market.

I will be happy to carry on the chat when we see the sale price tonight and it will be interesting your aggressive "to me" take on it then.

cannot call it, won't be shocked at £59k won't be shocked at £66k.

the last GT3 sold for £51k a comfort with 60k miles.
