Jimny commercial - anyone committed yet?

Eyed up the new Jimny when they were announced a few years ago but never followed through. Now they are commanding 'overs' I couldn't bare to pay the money they are going for!
The idea of a commercial jimny is appealing, hopefully at a slightly cheaper price than the car was listed at, although I understand pricing has not yet been confirmed. Has anyone made enquiries with the local dealer about putting a deposit down etc. Any reported dates/pricing/specs?!

No one? So I popped into the local dealer today. Basically not taking deposits but noting interest. I think they have had their fingers burnt with the car version of the jimny, with no real idea as to their allocation and what would come to them and when. Basically no deposit equals no expectation equals no grumpy customers! He was also quite Frank in suggesting that if the supply of the commercial is limited like with the car, then in likelihood dealers would pre-register and ask overs. Personally I think that if Suzuki UK perceive this to be the case, they'll hike the list price themselves to take that cut. Hopefully (for me) buyers of the car will be slightly more cautious with the impending increased supply and the demand for premiums over list will decrease. Gutted I didn't get in on a SV4 in the early days when they were in the £16k bracket!

I’ve been in regular contact with my local dealer; I emailed yesterday morning to ask if there was any update as I read on another forum that they had landed in the UK. He said he would investigate, and got back to me later in the day to say that they had been allocated two cars for the entire year (apparently there are only 400 coming to the UK this year). I have been lucky enough to secure one of them, and paid a £500 deposit yesterday. They had quite a big waiting list and could have sold the cars many times over.
That's interesting, price is getting a bit toppy but will still hold their money for sure, as you say, lucky to get an allocation! I will go back to my dealer but presumably there's no chance of securing one now! Just read that being a commercial they are subject to £275 commercial VED which must be a bit annoying!
