Gate opener remote no really!

My work, gave me a gate opening remote control.

it cost a negligble £ 20.

I kept it on the dashboard of the jeep, sadly while nagotiating particulary tricky roundabout last week, It sailed out passenger window, and was lost.

What can I use instead from under the stairs/toybox to trigger the gate mechanism
anyone ?

No way jose, they stay firmly in the steering wheel area, have you seen what happens when you get ideas like that, anyway, that might involve, stopping to get out of the car to operate a kerbside button,

in an effort to make amends ive just looked under my stairs. unfortunatley i live in a bungalow. and im blind.

In fairness re-reading my post, and indeed the very action of posting here, was fundamentally my downfall.

Expecting any form of useful input, out of business hours, is simply madness,please be aware I shall prop a back copy of 'Punch' in front of monitor thus alleviating this throbbing pain at the back of my eyes.
