I need to get my A/C topped up as it's not as "cold" as it once was. The car was built about 4 years ago now, so it is due anyway. My mates local garage has all the A/C equipment, but they need to know various figures such as quantities of gas etc. I haven't got a clue & can't find anything in the HSV Owners Handbook. I guess that the VX is the same as the VT, does anyone have these fiqures to hand?

Many thanks Paul thats absolutely brilliant. I'll print it out & give it to the mechanics at my mates garage. I naively thought you just connected a pipe & added some more gas! LOL

On the subject of A/C. Mine stopped working altogether (HSV GTS) due to a resistor (ballast?) burning out which is conveniently located in the blower unit in the passenger footwell. Got part replaced under GIV warranty, the new part was substantially uprated compared to the original. Complete b**tard to fit, took all day with me upside down in the footwell. worked fine ever since.

Steve, Is your car a VT or VX. Wondering if my VX has this later uprated part? Hoping that it has!

I would apperar to have a small hole in the radiator type thingy, err condensor, charged and in 3 days all gone, not cheap no doubt to replace, any experiences (200 GTS).

BTW The chap who charged the system aided by a sniffing probe detected where the leak was, basically not any pipes or seals.
